Dimosthenis Kifokeris
Dr. Dimosthenis Kifokeris is a Docent and Associate Professor in Construction Production and Management of Construction Projects at the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering (ACE). He is a Director of Doctoral Studies (Graduate Schools in Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering, and Applied Acoustics), as well as the Department Coordinator for Artificial Intelligence. His main interests include regenerative construction production, construction management, construction informatics (machine learning, blockchain/DLT, IoT, and BIM), lean construction, and constructability. Dimosthenis has been the leader or a team member in Swedish and international projects with a total budget of approx. 60 million SEK, funded by Formas, SBUF, Vinnova, CMB, and Horizon Europe. His interdisciplinary scientific perspectives include labor process theory, labor theory of value, organizational theory, and data science. In his PhD thesis, he utilized supervised and unsupervised machine learning to appraise project constructability through risk analysis. He is currently Secretary of the Board of the European Council for Computing in Construction (EC3), a Board member of Construction Researchers on Economics and Organisation in the Nordic Region (CREON), a Committee member of the Association of Researchers in Construction Management (ARCOM), the leader of the thematic group Byggprocess och Förvaltning (BoF) in Sveriges Bygguniversitet (SBU), and an individual member of the International Association for Life-Cycle Civil Engineering (IALCCE). He chaired the EC3 2022 PhD Summer School in Rhodes, Greece, in July 18-22, 2022.
